JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and National Service and the Prisons Department, invites job applications from qualified and capable Tanzanians to fill twelve (12) positions as specified in this announcement.

1.0. MINISTRY OF DEFENCE AND NATIONAL SERVICE

The Ministry of Defence and National Service was officially established in 1995, and prior to that, between 1972 and 1989, its responsibilities were under the Second Vice President’s Office. Between 1989 and 1995, the Ministry’s responsibilities were under the Office of the President. Before the Union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar, the Ministry was known as the Ministry of Defence and Foreign Affairs. The Ministry has a significant role in safeguarding the Authority of the United Republic of Tanzania and the National Interest against internal and external enemies.

ASSISTANT MEDICAL DOCTOR GRADE II – 05 POSITIONS.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifying patients’ problems and providing medical, preventive, and maternal and child health services;
Performing emergency and routine surgeries;
Planning, implementing, and evaluating health services in their workplaces;
Planning the implementation of disaster and emergency response plans;
Conducting research in various health areas to improve service delivery; and
Performing other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

APPLICANT’S QUALIFICATIONS

Employment with an Advanced Diploma in Medicine from a government-recognized institution and licensed to practice by the Medical Council of Tanganyika, with at least three years of work experience.

SALARY LEVEL – In accordance with the government salary scale
TGHS C

ASSISTANT TECHNOLOGIST (LABORATORY) – 05 POSITIONS.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing reagents for laboratory tests;
Performing preliminary work on samples brought to the laboratory;
Collecting blood from patients and volunteers;
Recording test results in registers;
Preparing work materials;
Properly storing samples that require storage after investigation; and
Performing other tasks assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

APPLICANT’S QUALIFICATIONS

Employment for graduates of Form Four or Form Six with a certificate in Laboratory Science from a government-recognized institution and registered with their respective boards where applicable.

SALARY LEVEL – In accordance with the government salary scale
TGHS A

ASSISTANT TECHNOLOGIST (PHARMACY) – 02 POSITIONS.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing requirements and usage of drugs and medical supplies;
Procuring, storing, and distributing drugs and medical supplies in their work area;
Preparing reports on drug and medical supply usage;
Maintaining records of drugs and medical supplies; and
Performing other tasks assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

APPLICANT’S QUALIFICATIONS

Employment for graduates of Form Four or Form Six with a certificate in Pharmacy from a government-recognized institution and registered with their respective boards where applicable.

SALARY LEVEL – In accordance with the government salary scale

GENERAL CONDITIONS.
All applicants must be citizens of Tanzania and not more than 45 years old, except for those already employed.

All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic certificates, details, copies of certificates authenticated by a Lawyer/Lawyer, which are Form Four and Form Six certificates for those who have reached that level and certificates of completion of various training courses in accordance with the qualifications of the relevant job.

Professional registration certificates (Professional certificates from respective boards)
Valid work licenses
“Testmonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form IV AND Form VI RESULTS SLIPS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Applicants who have studied outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates are verified and endorsed by the relevant Authority (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
Retired Public Service employees are not allowed

to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
Applicants currently employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and are required to follow the instructions in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010
Submission of forged information and qualifications will result in legal action being taken against the perpetrators.
The deadline for submitting job applications is April 16, 2024.
